|SCO Secretary-General meets with President of MODUL University Vienna|
On March 5 ináVienna, SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov met witháPresident ofáMODUL University Karl Woeber.
They discussed prospects foráorganising joint events toápromote tourism and establishing cooperation betweenáMODUL University and higher educational institutions ináthe SCO member states.
Vladimir Norov spoke aboutáthe biggest tourism cooperation projects betweenáthe SCO member states, including the Eight Wonders ofáthe SCO project embracing the national treasures ofáIndia (Statue ofáUnity), Kazakhstan (Tamgaly Archaeological Complex), China (Daming Palace Ruins ofáTang Dynasty), Kyrgyzstan (Lake Issyk-Kul), Pakistan (the Mughal heritage ináLahore), Russia (The Golden Ring), Tajikistan (Navruz Palace) and Uzbekistan (Poi Kalyan architectural ensemble).
Vladimir Norov and Karl Woeber exchanged views onáthe training ofátourism professionals including guides, tourist group supervisors, hotel employees and other hospitality specialists. The SCO Secretary-General spoke aboutáthe higher educational institutions ináthe SCO member states that focus onátourism and hospitality services.
Karl Woeber outlined the most recent trends when it comes toáthe development ofáEuropean tourism policy such asáimproving the railway infrastructure, organising individual tours and offering new attractive routes. He invited Vladimir Norov toátake part ináthe European Cities Marketing International Conference & General Assembly ináPoland ináJune 2020.
He also brought upáwith Vladimir Norov the activities ofáthe University ofáMODUL Department ofáTourism and Hospitality Management, ináparticular, the development ofátourism policies and products, analysis and forecasting of
demand ináthe industry, asáwell asáthe introduction ofáinformation technologies ináthe tourism and hospitality sector.
An agreement was reached toácontinue contacts ináthe interests ofáintensifying tourist exchanges and improving the level and quality ofáservices provided.
