SeAZ in talks with the Chinese automakers

The Director-General of the Serpukhov Auto Plant (SeAZ) Aleksandre Baburin told that the enterprise was considering alternative types of cooperation with AvtoVAZ (on production of three- and five-door hatchbacks Lada Samara in Serpukhov, including those with FAW Chinese engines), as well as with Chinese automakers. He also informed of negotiations being held at present with several Chinese companies. In this regard he assured that as early as this year Chinese automobiles (one or several models) production will start in Serpukhov. Therefore, the plant is expected to run at full capacity, and for the time being it produces only 25 thousand cars per year.
