The President of Kazakhstan Supports Acceleration of Negotiations on a Customs Union Creation within the Framework of EurAsEC |

The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev assigned to the Cabinet of ministers to intensify negotiations with the Eurasian Economic Community member states (EurAsEC) on a customs union creation.
“The Head of the state has set a task before us to accelerate the negotiation process for a single customs union creation,” said the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov at the government meeting. In this regard Masimov put the first Vice Premier of the government Umirzak Shukeev in charge of the Kazakh group of negotiators in this matter. Alongside with that the Head of the government noted that one of deterrents in creating a customs union is drug trafficking from Afghanistan. “One of the problems deterring from a customs union creation is drug trafficking that goes through the territory of Afghanistan, according to the Russian party,” said the Prime Minister. It will be recalled that, the customs union is being created within the framework of EurAsEC by Kazakhstan, Russia and Byelorussia. |
