At the meeting of the Council of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure, Kyrgyzstan succeeded China as the Council’s president. The event was attended by representatives of security services of SCO member states.
The meeting approved joint measures to be taken by SCO members to counteract recruitment of their citizens to terrorist, separatist and extremist organizations, and measures to enhance efficiency of interaction between the RATS and international organizations fighting terrorism, separatism and extremism, reported the RATS Secretariat.
The meeting participants also approved two draft documents, the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICMA) and the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation and interaction with the CIS Anti-Terrorist Center and the CSTO Secretariat.
The next meeting of the Council is scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan in April 2018, the RATS press service said.
