"Great Tea Route" Can Pass Through Perm
13.01.2009 17:44
In 2009 the Perm land can become an area for the International Forum "The Great Tea Route."

Decision on its location will be made by the international project’s participants already in the nearest time. As noted by observers, the Perm land’s chances to become an area for this large-scale event are big enough because Buryatia and other regions have already expressed their support to it.

The Forum "The Great Tea Route" is expected to take place in early June in Kungur, where a new tourist route "Tea Stories of Prikamye” is developed. There’s where in the first half of the XIX century was concentrated all wholesale trade of tea in Russia.

"The Great Tea Route" project has been developed since 1992 with the assistance of 50 organizations of three countries – Russia, Mongolia and China. It is aimed at using rich cultural and historical heritage of the immense territory of Eurasia, across which this trade route ran, for consolidation of international relations, attracting investments, development of tourism, increase of its contribution to economy and social sphere. Today this is the longest tourist route allowing to cross the whole of Euro-Asian continent.
